Martha Munroe’s painting titled “The Walk Home” has been invited to hang in the Community Gallery at the Fitchburg Museum for the month of October 2018. Reception October 7th , 1:30-3:30.

Martha V. Munroe CA is a self-taught artist. She has lived in Hyde Park, Framingham, MA, and Ethiopia. She now resides in Townsend, MA and welcomes visitors to her studio by appointment. Influences are Looney Tunes and Art Deco. Interests are “what’s it all about” and UFOs.

Since the beginning, acrylics have suited her style of painting. She uses large areas of solid colors and needs them to dry quickly so she can glaze on the next layer of color. Using masonite enhances the glazing effect. Sculpting with paper maché has become part of her portfolio since 2007. Currently, she is working on her “Moonlight Ladies” series of bas relief sculptures.

Martha is a member of the Copley Society of Boston as a Copley Artist, the Sharon Art Center, the Hollis Arts Society, and the Leominster Art Association.
